Nissan Murano

Vs

Hyundai Santa Fe

Performance

  • It's more powerful and fun to drive. Nissan Murano features a standard 3.5-liter V6, capable of producing 260 horsepower backed by 240 pound-feet of torque. The Hyundai Santa Fe base trim can only put out 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet, and even later trims can only deliver 235 horsepower.
  • It's better with fuel for highway driving. Expect to achieve up to 20 mpg in a city like Barlett TN, 28 mpg down the highway to Olive Branch TN, and 23 mpg combined between Cordova and Lakeland in all-wheel drive. Hyundai Santa Fe, when similarly AWD-equipped, gets only up to 27 mpg highway.

Safety

  • It's got security features for navigating Collierville traffic that are available sooner, plus a unique one. You can get an Intelligent Around View Monitor for situational awareness, for one; it's available with a step up to the SV trim. Traffic Sign Recognition is also available in SL and standard in Platinum, simplifying remaining aware of local rules. You'll have to graduate to Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate or Ultimate 2.0T to get a similar surround-view monitor, but Traffic Sign Recognition isn't offered anywhere in the line.

Interior

  • It's more comfortable for longer Southaven trips. Ten-way power driver's seating with two-way power lumbar support comes standard in the SV trim, rear-seat heating is standard in SL and Platinum, and dual-zone automatic temperature control is standard across the board. Only eight-way adjustment comes standard in the comparable Hyundai Santa Fe SEL trim, you can only get rear-seat heating in the Ultimate 2.0T trim, and dual-zone auto climate control only comes in the midrange SEL Plus trim and later.

Technology

  • It's tech-savvier where it counts. A NissanConnect 8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, SiriusXM, HD Radio come standard in every trim, while Nissan door-to-door navigation with premium traffic come standard as soon as the SL trim. Hyundai Santa Fe features only a 7-inch system in its base trim, you can only get an 8-inch model with navigation at the top of the line, and you have to rise to SEL to get SiriusXM.
