Nissan Murano vs Honda Passport

Compare the Nissan Murano and Honda Passport in Memphis TN

If you've been looking for a new mid-size SUV here in southwest Tennessee, one with the dependability, go-anywhere capability, proven safety record, and comfortable, well-equipped interior to hit the road for any destination, you've probably considered models like Nissan Murano and Honda Passport. Which crossover gets the edge? Check out a comparison between them here at Jim Keras Nissan. We think you'll quickly see it's Nissan Murano.

Performance

Nissan Murano is more fuel-efficient than Honda Passport. According to the EPA, it can achieve up to 20 mpg in a city like Collierville, 28 mpg on the highway to Southaven, and 23 combined mpg between Barlett and Olive Branch TN. That's true in both FWD and AWD. Honda Passport, on the other hand, only gets 25 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.

Safety

Nissan Murano keeps you safer than Honda Passport in and around Cordova, owing to features you won't find in the latter's lineup. For instance, an Intelligent Driver Alertness feature comes standard to improve your concentration, while an Intelligent Around View Monitor is available as soon as a step up to the SV trim, simplifying keeping an eye on your surroundings. Pedestrian Detection and Traffic Sign Recognition are available in SL and standard in Platinum, too, so you can avoid obstacles while staying apprised of local ordinances. Honda Passport doesn't offer any of these features.

Interior and Technology

If you're looking to stay relaxed and well-connected on the way to Lakeland, Nissan Murano has a few perks for the trip that Honda Passport doesn't. For instance, a heated steering wheel comes standard in SL and Platinum. To get it in Honda Passport, you must rise to the Elite trim. Nissan Murano also features an 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4 USB ports, and SiriusXM and HD Radio, all standard, and an 11-speaker Bose premium sound system comes available in SV and standard in SL and Platinum. Honda Passport, however, features only a 5-inch LCD in its base Sport trim, and you have to rise to EX-L to get an 8-inch one with Apple and Android phone support, Sirius XM, and HD Radio. Moreover, it offers only up to 3 USB ports, and you have to graduate to Touring or Elite for premium audio. Even then, the system's only got ten speakers.
