Infotainment
If you want to get the most bang for your buck, and who doesn't, you'll want to keep in mind that Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration are standard on the Nissan Rogue, but only available on higher trims on the Ford Escape. You'll also only be able to get wireless Apple CarPlay® around Cordova if you choose the Nissan Rogue SL or Platinum.
Lighting
The Ford Escape has simple halogen headlights standard on almost every trim with LED reflector headlights only available on the top Escape Titanium trim. This subpar lighting cost the Escape the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Rogue not only received a good rating on its LED reflector headlights, but it also has these standard. The Rogue won the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award with flying colors.
Interior Space
Both of these SUVs have excellent room for passengers to stretch out, with the Nissan Rogue edging out over the Escape by 1.4 cubic feet with up to 105.4 cubic feet of passenger volume. However, the Rogue has much more space for cargo. Behind the rear seats, you can store up to 36.5 cubic feet of cargo compared to the Escape having an optimal 33.5 cubic feet. If you fold down those rear seats, you'll have up to 74.1 cubic feet in the Rogue compared to the Escape's 65.4.
