What's New About the 2022 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X?
The redesign puts the Frontier PRO-4X leaps and bounds beyond its competitor from the Toyota brand. First, in the battle of engines, the all-new Nissan Frontier puts forth a much better option. The standard engine in the 2022 Frontier PRO-4X will be a 3.8-liter V6 engine that will pump out 310 horsepower. The engine in the Tacoma TRD Off-Road can only push out 278 horsepower. The standard nine-speed automatic transmission means smoother shifting between gears than the standard six-speed transmission that comes standard with the Tacoma.
The Frontier PRO-4X also comes available with 17-inch wheels, which is better than the 16-inch wheels that comes standard with the Tacoma TRD Off-Road. You will have access to all-terrain tires, Bilstein® shock absorbers, skid plates, and an electronic locking differential with the Nissan truck. While the Tacoma TRD-Off-Road does have many of these elements, it still doesn't have the Zero Gravity seats that are in the Frontier. These NASA-inspired seats provide great comfort, no matter what terrain you are traversing. Both trucks come available with four-wheel drive.
